Singing Bowl - Bronze - Double Vajra - 2 Sizes Available 4.5" & 5"
The mystique singing bowl is a ritual object used by enlightened Lamas and Tibetan monks in the Himalayan region (Tibet and Nepal) since ancient times. When "played" with a wooden stick, the metal bowl emits resounding and serene sounds. The pitch of the bowl depends on its material content, thickness, size and weight. The smaller bowls produce delicate, high pitch, entrancing sound. The larger bowls produce deeper, full-bodied sounds. Singing bowls create a range of different calming sounds and overtones.
A singing bowl is a perfect tool for meditation, stress reduction and holistic healing. Our singing bowls are handcrafted by local artisans in Nepal. Amadara offers singing bowls in metals, various sizes and designs. To produce a sound, put the singing bowl on the palm of your hand. Make sure that your palm is flat. Strike on the rim and rub the rim in a clockwise motion slowly. This excitation causes the sides and rim of the bowl to vibrate, producing a rich sound. Feel the vibration and focus on the sound. If any thoughts come through your mind, acknowledge it and go back focusing on the singing bowl. If you like, you can sing (vocalizing) while playing the singing the bowl. Harmonize your voice with the blissful sound of the singing bowl.
Bronze singing bowls are considered to produce a richer and more complex sound compared to brass bowls.
